Prescription Drugs and the Benemax Debit Card™

On the Gold Plans, Benemax pays the Deductible and Copayment costs of approved prescription drugs (Rx) under your Health Plan.

On the Silver Plans and Bronze Plans, Benemax pays the Deductible and Copayment costs of approved prescription drugs (Rx) under your Health Plan once your deductible has been satisfied.

How do I pay for my Rx?

To facilitate Rx purchases under your health plan, a Benemax Debit Card has been provided. You cannot use the Benemax Debit Card to pay for any item other than prescriptions approved your Health Plan.

How do I use the Benemax Debit Card?

When purchasing a prescription, you must first show your health insurance ID card to the pharmacist and then present the Benemax Debit Card to pay your balance due.

If you have a prescription with a pharmacy that you submitted prior to activating your Benemax Debit Card, you must ask the pharmacist to “resubmit” or “reenter” the prescription, or the card transaction may not succeed.

From time to time, it may be necessary for Benemax to audit a claim or to obtain additional information about a charge. Please be sure to retain your prescription receipts for several months just in case we need to ask you for such documentation.

Do I keep my Benemax Debit Card after the plan year ends?

Yes. Cards are valid for 5 years, and at the appropriate time, your current card will be reloaded with funds.

May I use the Benemax Debit Card when purchasing my medications by mail order?

Yes. When purchasing an approved Rx medication by mail, online or over the phone through a mail order program, the Benemax Debit Card may be used to pay the balance due.

What should I do if for some reason my Benemax Debit Card doesn’t work?

If for any reason your Benemax Debit Card is declined, you may purchase your Rx medication with another form of payment, and submit the pharmacy note (attached to the bag) to Benemax for immediate reimbursement.
